Senior Game Studio — Character Creation Process

This is my process for creating the main character of a theoretical game pitched by my Senior Game Studio group. I first started with the idea of the character being a journalist, and then sketched out six different versions of said journalist character with varying levels of professionalism. From there my group and I decided the character should be more of an amateur journalist, and from there on I created about ten different designs, taking critiques from my group as I went on. I landed on design h., as it seemed to be the culmination of all my work. I then moved on to color studies, where I decided I didn’t want to have a huge color variation within the palette, so I kept the design in mostly the same color family. Once I picked the color palette I liked best, I moved on to creating the turn around sheet, and then started the “splash art” type piece when the turn around was finished.
